Day 20: Benasque
A zero day today!
My second rest day in the hike so far and I felt I really needed it. I am staying in a little hostal in town with air-conditioning, and I have had a great sleep last night and a morning just ticking off jobs before I leave again on the trail tomorrow. Things like buying more SIM credit, shopping for groceries, planning the rough route for the next few days, drying my tent, back flushing my Sawyer water filter, buying some super cool trail running shorts, and repacking my pack and charging all my devices etc.
I met up with L for lunch and an ice cream in town - Benasque is a really cute medieval stone village and just wandering around in the warm summer here us beautiful. The next 3 or 4 days will be camping before I reach Espot where I will stay in a guesthouse that I’ve booked, so I will be leaving tomorrow with a full and heavy pack carrying a fair bit of food.
I did look for another pair of Salomon S/LAB Ultra 3 shoes as the tread on parts of my current pair is worn through, but I couldn’t find any so I will just hope they last until Andorra.
