Day 22: Embalse de Moralets to Lac deth Cap de Pòrt
About 18km, 1400m elevation gain.
A really awesome day. Hiked most of the day solo and the views up here are just unreal. Met up with S from Germany who I had hiked with earlier on the trail and we decided to pitch our tents at this amazing lake really high up but just below the final ascent over the pass - neither of us were sure if there would be scree and boulder fields on the other side, or grass suitable for camping, and another evening storm was rolling in. Had magic swim in the lake and got inside my tent after dinner just before the storm hit. A from Israel, and L joined our camp-site at dinner time also. The storm was pretty crazy, huge lightning and thunder, with hail the size of grapes. I was pretty worried for the Zpacks tent but it stood strong. Also fairly worried for myself with the lightning given my hiking poles are vertical struts for the tent, and are made of aluminium.
